The 2007 Saleen/Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang will take you back to 1970, when Parnelli Jones ruled the SCCA Trans Am Series in his Boss 302 Mustang. In commemoration of Parnelli’s illustrious career in Motorsports and his legendary win of the Indy 500 in 1963, Saleen is producing only 500 of these Limited Edition’s and they are selling as fast as Parnelli Jones and his racing history.
Contemporary Classic
“We designed this commemorative vehicle to capture the raw, aggressive attitude that Parnelli raced with” explains Steve Saleen, “thus it comes in one color, Grabber Orange, with a black striped fully functional “shaker” hood, race-derived hood pins, black trunk deck with our Boss replica wing, 302 side stripes, contemporized louvers and our Minilite-inspired racing wheels.” The Saleen body work for the Limited Edition includes new front and rear fascias, side skirts, front and rear chrome trim, Boss replica wing, trunk insert license plate panel, vented rear window quarter panels, and a racing-inspired billet gas cap. The commemorative graphics package includes steering wheel and wheel badges, custom gauge faces, sill plates, seat badges, and vinyl cling Steve Saleen and Parnelli Jones driver’s roof decals, and roundels with Parnelli’s signature #15 race number. This car is as authentic as it gets.
Authentic Experience
In 1970, the spectators wore bell bottom pants and mood rings, and watched Parnelli in his black striped Grabber Orange Boss 302 Mustang take numerous checkered flags to win the overall championship.
The Saleen/Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang celebrates that attitude and capability with its Saleen MOD 302 V8 3-valve engine, producing 400 HP at 6000 RPM and 390 ft-lb of torque at 4000 RPM. The high rev, high compression engine utilizes forged pistons, rods, crankshaft, a lightweight aluminum flywheel and Saleen’s PowerFlashTM technology. “From the Saleen MOD 302 to the high performance exhaust, we’ve delivered a truly authentic experience,” notes Saleen.
The Limited Edition is engineered with Saleen’s RacecraftTM precision suspension. The new race derived Watts-Link suspension, superior springs, shocks, sway bars and Saleen 14” brakes provide the ultimate road and track experience.
